I went to Google, as I have to do every single time I need to remember measurement conversions and it occurred to me: there has to be a better way! It was a bit of an overwhelming task, but, it did allow me to brush up on my measurements a bit. I didn’t end up making the apple butter, so I can’t share the recipe. I found that I was struggling to remember some of the measurements that I had learned in school! Since I don’t necessarily want to make gargantuan portions, I knew I needed to figure out a way to half the recipe. In this case we should multiply 10 Cups by 0.25 to get the equivalent result in Quarts: 10 Cups x 0.25 2.5 Quarts.

Four quarts plus 1 cup is equal to 17 cups. To calculate 10 Cups to the corresponding value in Quarts, multiply the quantity in Cups by 0.25 (conversion factor). Y’all, the proportions for these recipes are HUGE! To convert 16 quarts into cups we have to multiply 16 by the conversion. Have you ever looked at some of the recipes in those Amish cookbooks?
